Walk-In Tattoos

Clients are often surprised to find out that we offer walk-ins for tattoos. Some of our artists have wait lists ranging from a few months, up to a year. However, these waits are for larger, more time consuming tattoos.

Our artists love to take on walk-in tattoos when they have gaps in their schedules. A walk-in tattoo is a tattoo that can be completed in a single session and can be taken on by any available artist that has free time.

When getting a walk-in tattoo, there is a few things to keep in mind.

Ask Questions

Don’t be afraid to ask the artist questions when you come for a walk-in tattoo. It is always best to make sure that you and the artist are on the same page for the tattoo you are looking to get. Creating a tattoo that has the meaning and feeling you desire is extremely important to each of our artists.

If you are unhappy with the design created for you, speak up and let the artist know. The artist wont be offended, and will recreate the design into something that you love. Keep in mind, it is better to express anything you don’t like about the design so we can change it before it is permanently inked on you. Giving the artist helpful feedback will help both of you to decide on the right design for you and your body. Please keep in mind we will not replicate a tattoo you have seen on the internet, however are happy to design something custom for you!

If there is any part of the tattoo process you don’t understand, don’t be afraid to ask! Our artists are very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have. Understanding steps like tattoo aftercare are crucial to not only the healing of your tattoo, but also to your health. Please do not hesitate to call the studio or stop by with any questions you may have.

Avoid Price-Shopping

When getting a tattoo, keep in mind that this is something that will be on your body for the rest of your life, so it’s worth spending a little more for. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to go to the most expensive place, however we recommend looking at portfolios of the artists who may do your tattoo.

Every shop will have portfolios in their studios, as well as online. We highly recommend browsing these artist portfolios to find an artists style that speaks to you. Picking a design from an artist’s available flash designs can save you some money as well as ensuring you get a design that’s right for you.

Consider Flash Designs

As much as our artists love to tattoo custom designs, it is more important that you have a design you love, than one that is personalized for you. A flash design is a design that one of our artists would like to tattoo, and has previously created it. These tattoos can be cheaper as artists may offer a flat rate for the piece. These tattoos also usually take a shorter amount of time as the artist is already familiar with the design they are doing.

Our artists usually don’t mind making a few changes to these designs, however don’t go overboard with customization. If the flash design needs to be significantly redesigned, it is most likely not the correct piece for you.

Walk-in Tattoo Restrictions

Typically we won’t turn down a walk-in tattoo, however if we do it is for one of the following reasons

  1. Artists are booked
  2. Intoxication/Substance Abuse
  3. Facial tattoos
  4. Hate tattoos

Sometimes all of our artists are busy, and unfortunately walk-ins cannot be accommodated. The amount of time it will take to do the tattoo you are looking to get may be a factor in this decision. It is almost always possible to do a smaller tattoo that will take an hour, however one that will take all day may not be do able.

Any respectable artist will refuse to tattoo you if you come into a studio under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Firstly, no artist wants to be held responsible for your choices while you were under the influence. Secondly,  getting tattooed while under the influence can lead to infection. Contrary to popular belief, being under the influence can actually cause the process of getting a tattoo to be more painful.

We simply do not offer face tattoos as walk-ins. Face tattoos are a huge commitment and need to be fully planned out and discussed at length with your artist.

Whether you come in for a consultation or a walk-in, hate tattoos are always an absolute no from the Dynamic Studios staff. We do not accept hate or intolerance in our studio.
